Wernher Von Braun, mechanical and aerospace engineer, who was the mastermind behind the Saturn V rocket that in 1969 put man on the moon, wrote a book in 1952 entitled "Project Mars". It is listed as a non-fictional science book, and also the most influential book on planning human missions to Mars.
Chapter 24 entitled "How Mars is governed" mentions something amazing and striking: "The Martian government was led by ten men, whose leader was elected by universal suffrage for five years, called "Elon". Two houses of Parliament were enacted and the laws will be administered by Elon and his cabinet."
On December 5, Elon Musk in a tweet posted the following: "Starship takes beings of Earth to Mars"
The image corresponds to a work called "Space Ark" by the Japanese artist Shigeru Komatsuzaki, painted in 1968.
Before Von Braun, in the year 1922, the physicist Hermann Oberth published his thesis entitled "Rockets into interplanetary space" about space science, and how rockets could be used to reach space.
On August 4, 1969 at the meeting of the "Space Task Group", in front of scientists, engineers, senators, congressmen and the President of the United States Richard Nixon himself, Von Braun together with his team, presented their daring plan to reach Mars in 1982.
In April 2010, the President of the United States Barak Obama announces at a press conference at NASA facilities that they will send a manned mission to Mars by the year 2030.
And finally, Elon Musk announced in 2022 that the best date to carry out the mission to reach the red planet will be in 2029, due to the closeness of the orbits, making the trip shorter.
Netflix has 3 documentaries ("Countdown", "Back to Space" and "Generation Mars") that narrate in a wonderful way, where many voices are heard, that humanity's fervent desire was always to be interplanetary but there was always a great obstacle: MONEY.
We want to be part of this history, leave our mark and be one of the most stable and successful projects of the BSC.
